Expand Lab 2023
The second edition of Adelaide Film Festival’s EXPAND Lab was held from 20 – 27 October 2023. It brought together mid-career and established Australian visual artists, filmmakers, producers, writers, VR/AR creators and other creatives, to collaborate in groups and develop bold new moving image projects.
Of the projects developed in EXPAND Lab, one is selected for the AFF and Samstag $100,000 EXPAND Moving Image Commission to be exhibited at Samstag Museum of Art during Adelaide Film Festival 2025. In addition, two projects are selected for mentoring by Illuminate Adelaide and the Art Gallery of South Australia.
Ten projects were presented on the final day of the 2023 AFF EXPAND Lab and from these five were shortlisted with each group receiving $5,000 for further development of their concepts.
Our project titled ‘The Ingress’ has been short listed for further development following the final pitch on 02 February 2024.
